Issue:
The engine MIL is on and reported DTC P0496-00 (Evaporative Emission System High Purge Flow - No sub type information) only. No other fuel system or relevant system failure.
Check the purge valve according to the WSM - DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX - DTC P0496-00，and perform routine - Purge Valve Self Test. No abnormality of the purge valve can be found.
Cause:
The PCM software calibration problems lead to false diagnosis and report the DTC P0496-00.
Action:
Do not replace the purge valve if no hardware damage is found. Update the PCM software version to the latest version, then follow the WSM - DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX - DTC P0496-00 "Action" for check and road test under federal diagnostic test conditions.
