Noises/vibrations/leaks/surge from the drive train (rear-wheel drive,
transfer case, front-axle differential, drive shafts)
Various causes on the drive train (rear-axle differential, transfer case, front-axle differential,
drive shafts).
For diagnostics, you must use the troubleshooting tree for drives in the tester.
You will find the schematic under the following path: diagnostics/mechanics/....... (included with version 54 onwards).
In addition, please use/fill in the following questionnaire, on receipt of the order if possible, and send it back for PuMA cases.
Please include a copy if sending in damaged parts.

2. Service advisor undertakes an assessment journey (precondition for making a good diagnosis.
- with the customer in the car if possible
- while bearing customer complaint in mind: note operating condition, driving profile, peripheral factors.
- air-conditioning system and audio devices switched off
- windows and sliding sunroof closed.
0 Complaint regarding noise while pulling away:
- several search runs, let the customer drive if possible
- process: vehicle stationary – start moving (forwards) – stop – start reversing – stop
0 Noise during even/uneven driving/load reversal:
- select quietest road surface possible
- try to recreate same operating conditions as when the noise occurs
- note any suspension noise specific to the M model
