There may be noises from the thigh support on the comfort seat while the ventilator is switched on.
There could be several possible causes:
1.) Broken fragments of the cushion may have fallen into the ventilator, thereby preventing
smooth running.
2.) The inlay between upholstery and cushion is secured to Velcro strips. There is a possibility that
these strips, which are fitted to the cushion, were not fitted cleanly and may therefore
come into contact with the ventilator.
3.) The ventilator may come into contact with the inlay between the cushion and upholstery.
Service measure:
Remove the thigh support in accordance with the BMW Repair Instructions and proceed as follows:
For cause 1:
If fragments of cushion are found in the ventilator, replace the cushion part of the thigh
support (BMW part number 52 10 7 167 372) and clean the ventilator carefully of the cushion fragments.
For cause 2:
If the Velcro strips are making contact with the ventilator, shorten them accordingly to
prevent further contact (see enclosure 1).
For cause 3:
If the ventilator is rubbing on the inlay (partition net), replace the inlay with a new
"seat depth adjustment inlay" (BMW part number 52 10 9 168 682) (see enclosure 2).
Refit the thigh support in accordance with the BMW Repair Instructions.
