- Fuel level signal does not agree with actual fuel fill level. Shows a too high or not high enough fuel
level.
- Running out of fuel although gauge indicates remaining fuel.
NOTICE:
Only gasoline versions are affected!
- The fuel level sensor could be incompletely clipped.
- The grounding cable of the fuel level sensor on left hand side of gasoline fuel tank has too much slack
and can block the float arm.
Servicemeasure:
1.) Remove the fuel gauge sensor on left hand side according to repair manual 16 12 001.
2.) Check for loose fuel level sensor.
3.) If the sensor is loose attach it correctly and clip it completely into bracket (see attachment 1).
4.) Check for slack of ground wire of pressure regulator and possible interference with sweep of fuel
level sensor.
5.) Add zip tie (see attachment 2 - point 1) around ground wire (point 2) and fuel transfer lines (point 3).
6.) Reassamble alls parts according to repair manual 16 12 001.
7.) Watch for proper installation of the sealing ring. Green rim must be visible all around the cover lid.
