The following problem occurs in vehicles fitted with preparation for mobile phone with Bluetooth interface
(option 644) in combination with the USB audio interface (option 6FL) and a software status
older than March 2008 (Progman V29.0 or 08-03-5xx):
The first time the vehicle is programmed with Progman V29.0 or a more recent version
all entries in the voice-controlled phone book are lost. Once the vehicle has software status
V29.0 or a more recent version, the problem no longer occurs with subsequent programming sessions.
In the case of the R55 and R56, all vehicles with option 644 or option 6ND (Bluetooth hands-free
system with USB audio interface) or option 6NE (Bluetooth mobile phone preparation with USB audio
interface) are affected.

The following problem occurs in vehicles fitted with preparation for mobile phone with Bluetooth interface
(option 644) without option 6FL and a software status
older than September 2008 (Progman V31.0 or 08-09-5xx):
The first time the vehicle is programmed with Progman V31.0 or a more recent version
all entries in the voice-controlled phone book are lost. Once the vehicle has software status
V31.0 or a more recent version, the problem no longer occurs with subsequent programming sessions.
After programming, the voice recognition system cannot be used again until the vehicle has entered sleep
mode twice.

Vehicle equipment concerned: option 644, option 6FL

Inform the customer that, after vehicle programming, the voice-controlled phone book will have been
erased of all entries and these will have to be entered by voice input again.
An automatic backing up of entries before programming is not possible.
