Sunroof makes a clicking noise when the glass panels are being opened and closed ( about 1/2 way
back ).
Driving wedge may be off location
Servicemeasure:
1.) Open the sunshades to the full open position and glass in closed position.
2.) According to picture 1 remove carefully the bellows on both sides of the sunroof. Be careful not to
bend or tear the bellows.
3.) According to picture 2 verify the timing by checking the position of the tab on the front driving wedge
to the hole in the curve on slider. The position of the tab on each side should be within 1mm in the same
location.
4.) According to picture 3 and 4 drop down the center console (FZD) (by the rearview mirror).
5.) According to picture 5 and 6 unplug the front glass motor and remove the motor by taking out the 3
installation screws.
6.) According to picture 7 gently move the tab on the driving wedge either forward or back so that both
sides are evenly spaced in reference to the hole in the curve on slider.
7.) According to picture 8 reinstall the front glass motor. Be sure that the black spring insert is in the
motor. Do not force the motor into position. If it does not install flush to the front beam. Then carefully
turn the gear so that the motor aligns with the drive cables.
8.) After the timing is adjusted the gear in the motor may have to be rotated to engage in the
drive cables. Use the safety crank to rotate the gear according to picture 9.
9.) According to picture 6 and 5 reinstall the three motor screws and plug in the motor.
10.) Reinitialize the cassette.
11.) Reinstall the center console (FZD) according to picture 10.
12.) According to picture 11 reinstall the bellows.
