Steering gear is leaking hydraulic fluid. Problem is usually discovered while car is being serviced or
customer gets a low steering fluid warning in the instrument cluster.
Only cars build before the following dates could have this problem:
without Active front steering: 01.Okt. 2006 - 3 Apr 07
with Active front steering: 01. Okt. 2006 - 12 Apr 07
In many cases the leakage is near the connection of rigid metal lines of the steering gear (the so-
called "internal lines"). Replacing the internal lines usually does not fix the problem.
