"HomeLink" universal garage door opener (option 319) cannot be taught in, or it does not work.

Various causes, e.g. different software versions (frequencies) between garage door drive
and universal garage door opener (UGDO).

Always carry out the teach-in procedure with new batteries in the original transmitter. The Owner's Handbook
contains instructions for programming the UGDO.

This hotline provides assistance with programming and operation of the universal
garage door opener and will also help to determine whether the garage door system is compatible. The hotline is available

Please note that it may not be possible to teach in the UGDO if the UGDO and garage door drive
have different software versions. The UGDO software version
can be checked as follows:
To check the software version, you need to press either button I or button III on the universal
garage door opener and keep it pressed for approximately 50 seconds. The LED stops flashing and goes out. Keep the button pressed. After a few seconds, the
LED starts to flash again. The number of flashes corresponds to the software version.
(e.g. 6 flashes corresponds to software version 6 (transmission frequency 27, 40,418, 433 MHz)
7 flashes corresponds to software version 7 (transmission frequency as software version 6 + 868 MHz))
The software version or transmission frequency of the garage door drive must be evident in the sales
documents.
Please note that many garage doors are equipped with a rolling code system. The
procedure for teaching in this type of system can be found in the vehicle Owner's Handbook or on the Homelink
website. If the rolling code is not being synchronised,
the UGDO will not work in conjunction with this type of garage door controller.

A mirror replacement under the warranty cannot be justified if the UGDO cannot be taught in because it
has an older software version and does not support all frequencies. The mirror was state of the art at the time the vehicle
was purchased.
As an alternative, it is possible with some manufacturers (e.g. H?rmann) to replace the frequency
card in the garage door drive or to purchase a universal radio receiver for the garage door controller.
