Drive position "D" or "R" cannot be engaged.

In vehicles manufactured on or after 13.12.2006 (E70) and from March (E60 LCI/E61 LCI), drive position
"P" is engaged automatically by the transmission control unit if the seat belt on the
driver's side is released and the door on the driver's side is not closed properly.

Inform the customer that the driver's seat belt must be buckled or the driver's door must be
closed before it is possible to engage drive position "D" or "R".
A repair or parts replacement is not required, nor does it provide a solution.
For vehicles manufactured from the end of March 2007, an additional text message will be integrated into
the instrument cluster (CCM) as well as a how to proceed message in the additional text of the headunit that
will prompt the driver to close the driver's door or fasten the seat belt.
