If the iPod classic remains connected to the vehicle via the "cable adapter for Apple iPod" for a long time, e.g. overnight, it discharges.
When the vehicle is started after this period, the iPod is not available for several minutes due to this deep discharging.
After this time, it can be used again without problems.

Faulty firmware on the iPod classic.
Versions lower than 1.1 are affected.
The firmware version of the iPod can be read from the device under "Main menu" ->"Settings" ->"About".

In the event of a customer complaint, inform the customer that the firmware in the iPod classic should be updated to version 1.1 or later.
The customer should refer to the iPod instruction booklet or
www.apple.com for the necessary procedure.
The fault is not the responsibility of BMW. Reimbursement under warranty is not therefore permitted.
